Since you say you've already attempted to run the installers as admin, you might want to go back to basics:Ģ) re-attempt the run as admin routine, preferably with the offline 64-bit installer,ģ) if it fails again, open the Windows log files and look for the most recent error messages related to that Java installer. PC wars, Apple still happens to be a favorite target of ire for many Windows acolytes. and thanks to the long history of very emotion-driven Apple vs. Many techs I've known have a tendency to automatically assign blame to the easiest target without ever even trying to find the real source of the problem. I don't know who your "specialist" is, but my gut instinct is that he basically heard the word "Mac" and had a knee jerk "get-me-away-from-that-thing!" kind of response. I'd be careful just how much stock you place in that reaction. As such for the windows specialist guy I contacted before I posted here, the issue is considered a Mac issue and he could not help me. Has anyone else encoutered this on a Bootcamped Windows 10? If so, any help would be appreciated. I also did the troubleshooting and ran the files in compatibility mode (Win 8 and Win 7). Again, once I click on the downloaded file the process refuses to launch. * I even tried to download the Java SE Development Kit (figuring this might indirectly install java for me, I do not really know as I am truly out of my depth). Once I click through the pop-up the proces just disappears and never actuall kicks off literally nothing happens. * The same happens when I try to download from Firefox 32bit, Firefox 64bit, Internet Explorer. * I go to and download the offline installation file I double-click the file a pop-up will come asking whether I wish to continue (yes) the pop-up disappears and the process again just disappears no trace of it in task manager anywhere nothing happens. does not provide a download for these systems. If you have problems with Java 6, contact Apple Technical Support. Java 7 and later versions are not supported by these older versions of Mac OS X. * I go to, and run the online installation a pop-up will come asking whether I wish to continue (yes) the pop-up disappears and the process just disappears no trace of it in task manager anywhere nothing happens. Use Software Update available on the Apple menu to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java 6 for your Mac. I need to install Java on this Windows partition, but fail to do so: ![]() On Bootcamp is Windows 10, 64bit version, fully updated as well. I run a Macbook Pro (Late 2013), discrete GPU version, with MacOS Sierra (but I encountered the same issue with old OSX versions running). I am truly lost - please be gentle - any kind of suggestion or help is appreciated.
